Display Advertising Rates

Alternative Press Review is a new consumer magazine of reviews and reprints from the alternative press. Published quarterly, APR seeks to promote the alternative press as well as other alternative media. APR features both full-length essays and a selection of article excerpts in each issue, along with original coverage of alternative press issues, institutions and personalities. APR was named one of the ten best new magazines of 1993 by Library Journal.

FREQUENCY: Quarterly (attempted, but not guaranteed)

PUBLICATION DATES: Winter/Jan. 1st, Spring/April 1st, Summer/July 1st, Fall/Oct. 1st.

CIRCULATION: 7,000 to 8,500 print run; paid circulation at least 4,000

FORMAT: APR is printed by web offset on 38 lb Hi-Brite or 40 lb Mando Supreme paper with a full-color, 70 lb. coated cover and generous use of spot color inside.

DEADLINE: Camera-ready advertising copy must be received at least two weeks ahead of publication dates (this means Dec. 15th for the Winter issue, Mar. 15th for the Spring issue, June 15th for the Summer issue, and Sept. 15th for the Fall issue). If scheduled issues are running late, exceptions can sometimes be made.

MECHANICALS: Camera-ready advertising to size. Any halftones should be 100-line screens. Single spot color is available at extra cost, but separations must be provided.

Inside back cover	$340 (for b/w only, spot color add $95 per color)
Two thirds page	$225 (inside pages only)
Half page	$175 (inside pages only)
Third page	$125 (inside pages only)
Quarter page	$95 (inside pages only)
Sixth page	$70 (inside pages only)
Spot color	$40 extra on interior pages

10% discount for 3 succeeding identical insertions (deducted as a 30% discount from payment for 3rd insertion)

(Add 15% additional cost for ad placement in front half of magazine other than Inside Front Cover)

SIZES: Full page...7.4"W x 10"H; Two thirds page...4.8"W x 10"H, or 7.4"W x 6.6"H; One half page...7.4"W x 5"H, or 3.6"W x 10"H; Third page...7.4"W x 3.3"H, or 2.33"W x 10"H, or 4.8"W x 5"H; Quarter page...3.6"W x 5"H; Sixth page...4.8"W x 2.5"H, or 2.33"W x 5"H.
